Pomona Police responded to a robbery call for service where an Alcott Elementary School student was the victim. The victim was walking to school when three (3) high school-aged suspects pushed the young victim and took his cellphone.
The suspects were later located by Pomona Police Officers and were arrested.
Officers went to the victim’s home the following morning to return his cell phone and they saw he was still visibly upset. The victim’s mother does not own a vehicle and the victim said he is afraid to walk to and from school.
Pomona Police Officers’ Association Member and School Resource Officer D. Hernandez asked The Pomona Police Officers Association (PPOA) to assist with providing him with a bicycle, a helmet, and a security lock for his new bicycle. Officer Hernandez surprised her new friend with his new bicycle!
With this small gesture, the Pomona Police Officers’ Association hopes to make this young student feel a bit safer during his travels.
